Projects

The Cochrane Agricultural Society encourages the people in our community to take an active role in growing their own food.

Community Garden

After many years of dreaming and planning, the Cochrane Agricultural Society relaunched its community garden at the Fairgrounds in 2016.

Members plant, water and weed regularly to grow carrots, potatoes, beans, peas, chives, onions, lettuce, and more.

Anyone who wants their own plot can contact us.

Grow Right, Eat Right

Learning how to grow food can help children make smart food choices as they grow, too.

We offer free programming to schools and community groups with hands-on demonstrations to encourage a new generation of food growers.

We also provide potatoes for students to plant in the community garden and encourage them to keep one and give one to the local food bank.
